Connecting Db2 to IMS (optional)

Connecting Db2 to IMS is an optional part of migrating existing data sharing members to a new release. Connecting Db2 to IMS requires coordination with your company's group that supports IMS systems.

To connect the IMS attachment facility:

1. Make Db2 load modules available to IMS.
2. Define Db2 to IMS.
3. Define new programs and transactions to IMS.
4. Prepare IMS applications for Db2.
5. Depending on your site, you might also need to:
   • Define Db2 plans for IMS applications.
   • Generate a user language interface.
