ZOSMETRICS in macro DSN6SPRM
Enables Db2 to gather z/OS® metrics, including CPU usage and storage metrics, by using the z/OS Resource Measurement Facility (RMF) interface.
Acceptable values: | NO, YES |
---|---|
Default: | NO |
DSNZPxxx: | DSN6SPRM ZOSMETRICS |
Security parameter: | No |
- NO
- Db2 does not use RMF to gather z/OS metrics.
- YES
- Db2 uses RMF gather z/OS metrics, including CPU usage and storage.
The following actions are required to make the RMF interface operational:
Verify that the DSNWVRMF module is placed in a LINKLIST library. If the Db2 subsystem is in a data sharing group, ensure that DSNWVRMF is available in a LINKLIST library on all z/OS systems in the Parallel Sysplex®, regardless of whether a z/OS system contains a Db2 data sharing member.
After installation, refresh the LINKLIST by issuing the following MVS command:
f lla,refresh
- Start the RMF and RMF Monitor III Sysplex Data Retrieval Service.
In some cases, the z/OS metrics might not be provided, or they might be only partially provided in the Db2 trace. This lack of metrics is likely caused by setup problems that are related to RMF. If support is required, provide the incomplete trace data.
