Privileges required for the ID used by IBM Db2 Data Management Console
Adding a database connection to IBM® Db2® Data Management Console requires the creation of a connection profile. These can be created by both an administrator and user.
Note: For security reasons, when a connection profile is created, the password credential that is
entered is encrypted.
When a user adds a database connection profile to Data Management Console, they have the option of enabling
operational privileges, data collection privileges, or both. Refer to Adding database connections to see how to create a new
connection profile.
Note: If the connection profile owner provides data collection credentials when
creating a connection profile, and then shares this connection profile with other console users,
then those users will be able to see monitoring data from this connection. Operation credentials are
never shared with other users. So, while a connection profile owner can share their connection
profiles to other users, no one can see or invisibly use another users' operation credential. Each
user needs to provide his or her own operation credential if he or she wants to use the Data Management Console to administer a connected database.
