Scripts installation
Set up IBM® Db2® Data Management Console with the default settings by extracting the product archive and running the setup program.
Procedure
To set up IBM Db2 Data Management Console:
- Optional: Customize your product setup.
- Run the setup program. The setup program is stored in the setup_directory/ibm-datamgmtconsole directory where you extracted the product. For example, on Windows, the setup file is found in the following folder:
C:\Console\ibm-datamgmtconsole\setup.bat
- Windows: Run the setup_directory\ibm-datamgmtconsole-3.1.x-win\ibm-datamgmtconsole\setup.bat file as a user with Administrator privileges.
- Linux® and UNIX: Run the setup_directory/ibm-datamgmtconsole/setup.sh file as a user ID with write access to the setup_directory directory.
- Mac: Run the
setup_directory/ibm-datamgmtconsole/setup.sh file as a user
ID with write access to the setup_directory directory.Note:
- As part of upgrade process, you may be asked whether you want to upgrade or perform new installation. If you choose to perform new installation, continue to refer to this document. If you choose to upgrade, refer to upgrading document.
- For AIX® operating system, use the rpm -qa | grep bash command to confirm that the GNU Bourne Again shell (bash) is installed. If there is no output, you must download the corresponding RPM package and install it using the rpm -ivh packagename command.
- When you are installing Db2 Data Management Console on a Mac operating system, you might
get the following error message
repeatedly.
To resolve this issue, for each error message, you must manually allow your Mac system to download and open any and all apps on Db2 Data Management Console. For more information, see Resolving failed verification error in macOS.macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware
- For Mac and Windows operating system, when the installation is complete, the auto-start service feature is enabled to support automatic start of IBM Db2 Data Management Console whenever the host machine boots or re-boots. For more information on enabling or disabling auto-start service, see Auto-starting console.
- Respond to the setup program prompts:
- License agreement
- Select to indicate that you have read the license text and that you accept its terms.
- User
- The user ID that is specific to the product and is independent of operating system user IDs.
- Password
- The password for the default administrator user ID.
- Web console HTTP access
- The port that is used to access the IBM Db2 Data Management Console web console from a web browser.
- Web console HTTPS access
- The secure port that is used to access the IBM Db2 Data Management Console web console from a web browser.
Results
IBM Db2 Data Management Console is installed.
