You can use IBM®
Db2® Data Management Console to create monitor reports that
helps to compare and analyze the original data by displaying information in a graphical
format.
About this task
You can create the following types of reports:
- Enterprise trends
The enterprise trends report provides information about the top ten representative databases that
use the most CPU, memory, storage, and log space resources. The enterprise report that is compiled
from data in the representative databases can be used to evaluate the usage trends in those resource
categories.
- Database performance
Database performance report provides information on the overall
status of each database and analyze the usage of key metrics in the database, such as CPU, memory,
storage, throughput, SQL statements and more.
- Top statements
Top statement report provides details on the monitoring metrics of top
N SQL statements. The monitoring data in the top statement report is retrieved from package
cache.
- Table usage
Table usage report provides details on the top n table objects and related
key metrics information.
- Disk space usage
The Disk space usage report provides information on the storage usage
of the database.
Procedure
To create monitor reports:
- Log into web console.
- Click Administration and go to .
The following data tables are displayed:
- Active
The active data table displays the definition of reports and all scheduled
reports. The on-demand reports are automatically deleted when the execution is complete.
- Completed
The completed data table displays the execution results of all scheduled and
on-demand reports.
- Click Create report and select the type of report from the
list.
To create an instant report, select
On-demand.
In the
Create on-demand report page, complete the following steps:
- Enter the name of the instant report to be created.
- Select the Type of report. You can choose database performance
or enterprise trends to configure a customized on-demand report.
- Database performance
- Enterprise trends
- Top statements
- Table usage
- Disk space usage
- Click Next.
- Select the metrics to be displayed in report.
- Select a time range of report.
- Optional: Enter email to receive notification. Configuring email server.
- Click Next.
The Summary page
displays.
- Review the report details and click
Finish.
The instant report is listed in the Active
tab when it is running. When the report generation is completed, it is listed under the
Completed tab.
To create a scheduled report, select
Scheduled.
In the
Create scheduled report page, do the following:
- Enter the name of the scheduled report to be created.
- Select the type of report. You can schedule reports for one or more databases, or
choose to receive a report showing usage trends from representative databases in the system.
- Database performance
- Enterprise trends
- Top statements
- Table usage
- Disk space usage
- Click Next.
- Select the metrics to be displayed in report.
- Select time range of report.
- Optional: Enter email to receive notification.Configuring email server.
- Click Next.
- Specify the Start date, Time, and other required details for scheduling
the report.
- Click Next.
The Summary page
displays.
- Review the report details and click
Finish.
The scheduled report is listed in the Active
tab.
- To view the completed report, select the report and click View.
The report displays online.
To save and view the report in PDF format, click
Download.
Note: In the online report, you can click on the SQL statement field to see the full
SQL statement text in the data table. For PDF documents, the full SQL statement text is attached at
the end of the report results.
