Configuring the default monitoring profile

A monitoring profile defines how the product collects, processes, and stores monitoring data for specific databases. A default monitoring profile is provided and assigned to every database connection that is added or imported. You can create, customize, and assign different monitoring profiles to different sets of monitored databases.

About this task

Product administrators can edit the default profile and can create or edit additional profiles. Each database can be assigned to only one profile at a time. In each profile, specify to collect real-time data, historical data, or both, and also configure alerts.

To align with your environment resources and provide for your business needs, you can activate or deactivate certain profiles, include or exclude certain databases or metrics, and increase or decrease the monitoring rates.
