Assigning privileges

Assign privileges for product users based on their role in IBM® Db2® Data Management Console.

About this task

Each user can be assigned one of the following roles in IBM Db2 Data Management Console:
  • Console Administrator
  • Database Administrator
  • Database User
The role's privileges determine the information that can be accessed, and tasks that can be performed by the user in IBM Db2 Data Management Console.
Note: A Console administrator can modify the privileges that are assigned to the product user from the Settings > Users and privileges page.

The following table shows the default privileges that are assigned to the Console Administrator, Database Administrator, and Database User roles.

Procedure

To assign privileges based on role:

  1. Log in to IBM Db2 Data Management Console as a Console Administrator.
  2. Click Administration and go to Users and privileges > Privileges.
  3. From the Privileges list, check the boxes to select each privilege that you want users with this role to have.
  4. Click Save.
