Post-upgrade tasks

After upgrading IBM® Data Server Manager to IBM Db2® Data Management Console, you might require to perform some optional post-upgrade tasks based on your needs.

Verify the upgrade

Start the service of IBM Db2 Data Management Console.

You can verify if the upgrade operation was successful or not, by logging into the IBM Db2 Data Management Console through a web browser with a setup administrator account.

Modify configuration

Modify the configuration of repository database on a web page with the setup administrator account. For more details, see 'Repository setting'.

You can also re-configure the key stores and trust stores and configuration XML files of Liberty server for TLS/SSL connections and then restart the service.

Modify the JVM options in the below file:
<DMC_install_directory>/wlp/usr/servers/dsweb/jvm.options

where <DMC_install_directory> is the path of the install directory of IBM Db2 Data Management Console and then restart the service.

Enable database monitoring in IBM Db2 Data Management Console

To avoid double monitoring issues, the database monitoring function of IBM Db2 Data Management Console is turned off by default after the upgrade.

To enable monitoring for a database in IBM Db2 Data Management Console, you must first turn off the monitoring of this database in IBM Data Server Manager.

Roll back to IBM Data Server Manager

If for some reason the upgrade fails and if you want to 'roll back' to IBM Data Server Manager, follow the steps below:
  1. Stop the service of IBM Db2 Data Management Console.
  2. Restore the repository database based on your backup.
  3. Restart the service of IBM Data Server Manager.
