Notice of end of support for IBM Db2 Data Management Console

At IBM, we are focused on helping Db2 customers manage their environments through a simpler, more modern, and more intelligent experience. As part of that strategy, IBM Db2 Data Management Console was deprecated on March 5, 2026, and replaced by IBM Db2 Genius Hub, the next-generation management experience for Db2. IBM is now announcing that support for Db2 Data Management Console will end on November 20, 2026.

Moving to the next generation of Db2 administration

Db2 Data Management Console has served as a centralized interface for Db2 administrators across a wide range of environments. Over time, customer feedback from DMC helped shape the design and direction of Db2 Genius Hub.

Db2 Genius Hub builds on that foundation with a modern architecture, a unified management experience, and AI-powered capabilities designed for the next era of database administration. It is the strategic platform for future Db2 console innovation, including monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, and agentic AI capabilities.

Why we are making this move

Maintaining two overlapping Db2 console experiences creates fragmentation for customers and slows investment in the platform IBM is taking forward. By consolidating around Db2 Genius Hub, IBM can focus engineering, support, and product investment on a single forward-looking experience.

All future investment, new features, and enhancements for the Db2 management experience will be delivered through Db2 Genius Hub.

What this means for customers

Customers currently using Db2 Data Management Console should begin moving to Db2 Genius Hub as soon as possible. Db2 Genius Hub includes a free tier, giving customers a straightforward path to start using the new experience.
