Notice of deprecation of Db2 Data Management Console
At IBM, we build tools that grow with our customers. Today, we are excited to share what that growth looks like for Db2 data administration and to introduce the next generation of the Db2 Data Management Console (DMC) experience: Db2 Genius Hub. As of March 5, 2026, Db2 Data Management Console will be deprecated and replaced by Db2 Genius Hub.
A new experience, completely reimagined
Db2 Data Management Console has served as a trusted companion for Db2 administrators for years, providing a centralized interface for managing databases across a wide range of environments. The insights and feedback we have gathered from DMC users have been invaluable, and they form the foundation of everything we have built in Db2 Genius Hub.
Db2 Genius Hub is a natural evolution of DMC. Everything that made DMC a go-to tool for Db2 administration carries forward, and we have built it with a modern architecture, a unified experience, and capabilities that are designed to meet the demands of today's agentic era and hybrid deployments.
Why we are making this move
As our Db2 portfolio has matured, it became clear that the best way to serve our customers was to consolidate our management experience into a a single, forward-looking platform rather than maintain parallel tools. By bringing everything together under Db2 Genius Hub, we can move faster, innovate more consistently, and deliver a better experience without the fragmentation that comes from supporting multiple console products simultaneously.

Existing Db2 Data Management Console users are encouraged to upgrade to the Db2 Genius Hub Free Tier. The transition process is designed to be straightforward, allowing teams to move quickly to the new experience while continuing to manage their Db2 environments without disruption.
