Disabling the saving of operation credentials

IBM® Db2® Data Management Console administrators can now disable the user option of saving operation credentials from a connection profile to the repository database.

About this task

Currently, when a user is prompted to enter their operation credentials, a check box is displayed, providing them with the option of saving their credentials to the repository database. Administrators can disable this option by manually editing the dswebserver_override.properties file. This ensures that, once their console session expires, users will be required to enter their operation credentials again to gain access to their Db2 connection.

Procedure

To disable the saving of operation credentials:

  1. From the \Config folder of your Db2 Data Management Console installation, select and open the dswebserver_override.properties file.
  2. Add the operation.credentials.save.to.repository property and set it to false.
  3. Save the file and restart Db2 Data Management Console.

Results

Now, when a user is prompted to enter their operation credentials, the Save credentials to repository option will not be displayed.
