Governance Engine Server Switchover

This section describes how to perform a runtime switchover of the Governance Engine between standalone and high availability (HA) deployment modes.

A Governance Engine switchover might be required during runtime for operational or architectural reasons. Supported switchover scenarios include:

Switching from standalone active mode to HA active mode
Switching from HA backup mode to standalone active mode

Each switchover requires controlled configuration changes and careful handling of the Governance Engine data volume.

Important:

The Governance Engine instance contains a persistent data volume with highly sensitive information related to digital wallets and financial transactions.

Irrecoverable loss: If the data volume is lost, the data cannot be recovered.
Tampering risk: Unauthorized modification of the data volume can result in permanent loss of digital assets.

Before performing any switchover operation:

Ensure that a complete backup of the data volume has been taken.
Handle all data volumes with extreme caution.
