Setting the log level for the system log

You can change the logging level for the system-wide log for the default domain or the domain-specific log.

About this task

Log levels are hierarchical. The least critical level is shown at the end of the list. Setting the level to information or to debug causes the Debug-level logging is enabled, which affects performance. message to be displayed on all GUI screens.

Procedure

  1. In the search field, enter trouble.
  2. From the search results, click Troubleshooting.
  3. Locate the Logging section.
  4. From the Log Level list, select the logging level.
  5. Click Set Log Level.
  6. Follow the prompts.
