ODR connector groups

ODR connector groups are collections of connectors that define connections between the ODR feature and the Intelligent Management service on WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment.

Each ODR connector points to an endpoint for the Intelligent Management service. After the ODR feature successfully connects to any Intelligent Management service, the ODR feature retrieves a list of all Intelligent Management service endpoints. If an existing connection fails, the ODR feature uses one of the endpoints from that list. If multiple endpoints contain the same cell name, only one will have an up operational state.

High availability automatically identifies available endpoints within the cluster. You are not required to specify more than one connector in a connector group for fail over. For redundancy, define more than one member in the connection group. If only one member is defined and if that member is not available when the DataPower® Gateway starts, the connection is not established.

One ODR connector group is required for each WebSphere cell except in the case where multiple cells are arranged in a star topology. In this topology, one ODR connector group can serve all connected cells.

ODR connector groups are available only on the DataPower Gateway with the Application Optimization feature.
