CRU part replacement

Replacement of a CRU is your responsibility. When you have the Business Critical support option for hardware, an IBM® representative can replace a CRU part.

For each CRU part replacement, each procedure has preparatory and follow-up actions.

Preparing for part replacement

  1. Understand the action plan as provided by IBM Support.
  2. Obtain the replacement part or parts through your normal process.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the procedure and all applicable safety information.
