Unavailable functions or commands on Docker

Certain functions are unavailable or follow the Docker SDLC when the DataPower® Gateway runs in a Docker container.

The following functions or commands are unavailable in a Docker container.
  • You cannot configure Ethernet interfaces, VLAN interfaces link aggregation interfaces, and network settings. All commands are unavailable.
  • You cannot configure the IMS Callout handler. All commands are unavailable.
  • You cannot configure the NTP service. All commands are unavailable.
  • You cannot configure a Secure Gateway client. The Secure Gateway client is deprecated All commands are unavailable.
  • You cannot configure a Sysplex Distributor Target Control Service. The Sysplex Distributor Target Control Service is deprecated All commands are unavailable.
  • You cannot set the date or time. The clock command is unavailable.
  • You cannot run the following RAID actions. For additional RAID restrictions, see RAID and a DataPower Docker image.
    • You cannot initialize the file system on the RAID array. The raid-volume-initialize-filesystem command is unavailable.
    • You cannot encrypt the document storage partition. The raid-change-encryption-settings command is unavailable.
    • You cannot repair the RAID file system. The raid-volume-repair-filesystem command is unavailable.
  • You cannot run the following firmware actions.
    • You cannot designate the startup configuration. The boot config command is unavailable.
    • You cannot delete the secondary installation. The boot delete command is unavailable.
    • You cannot install firmware and features. The boot image command is unavailable.
    • You cannot switch between primary and secondary installations. The boot switch command is unavailable.
    • You cannot create a configuration or open a configuration for editing. The boot update command is unavailable.
    • You cannot reinitialize the DataPower Gateway. The reinitialize command is unavailable.
    • You cannot reload the firmware, restart the DataPower Gateway, or shut down the DataPower Gateway. The shutdown command is unavailable.
    • You cannot create a backup to restore the complete configuration to another DataPower Gateway. The secure-backup and secure-restore commands are unavailable.

The NFS mount functions are available but unsupported.

Unless DataPower Gateway is running as root, functions that uses SSH, which include SFTP, are available but unsupported.
