Defining B2B high availability

How to define B2B high availability.

Before you begin

Before you configure any B2B gateway for high availability (HA), you must have a primary and secondary gateway.

Procedure

  1. Install the primary gateway.
  2. Configure payload to be stored off-box.
    1. In the search field, enter b2b.
    2. From the search results, click B2B gateway.
    3. Click Add.
    4. Set the document storage location to remote.
  3. Copy the configuration from the primary gateway to the secondary gateway.
  4. Install the secondary gateway with the remote configuration from the primary gateway.

What to do next

Based on your need, configure the Ethernet interface in one of the following ways and define standby control.
  • Configure just one Ethernet interface on each DataPower® Gateway for both standby control and B2B persistence store backup.
  • Configure two Ethernet interfaces on each DataPower Gateway. One interface is for standby control. The other interface is for the B2B persistence store backup. The IP address on each interface must be on different subnets.

After you configure each B2B gateway for HA, the secondary persistence store becomes an exact replica of the primary persistence store through synchronization. You can view transactions on each gateway, but you can write to only the primary gateway. The secondary gateway has read-only permission.
