User interface customization

Each DataPower® Gateway can have a different custom user interface file. All customized aspects of the interfaces apply to all users in all domains.

To customize the GUI or CLI, you must create an XML file that defines aspects to customize. With the custom interface extensions, the DataPower Gateway can display business and IT-centric information to users.

To customize the user interfaces.
  1. Create an XML that defines the aspects to customize.
  2. Validate the conformance of the file against its schema.
You can customize the following aspects of the user interface.
  • The CLI prompt; for example, to include the system identifier.
  • Pre-login, post-login, and system messages for the CLI.
  • Pre-login, post-login, and system messages the GUI.

You can use any text editor to create the XML file. You must cut and paste the markup, and then specify the content of each customized message within the markup.

After the XML file is complete, validate the conformance of the file against its schema with the test schema command.
