Cost and licensing

The product license does not include any costs that are incurred by the provision and operation of the AWS environment.

Data Gate on Cloud is deployed by using two AWS CloudFormation templates:

  • The first template creates an AWS virtual private cloud (VPC) and a ROSA cluster inside of this VPC.
  • The second template creates a Data Gate on Cloud instance on a single node in the ROSA cluster.

The AWS CloudFormation templates include configuration parameters that you can customize.

Important:
  • Currently, you cannot deploy the product to an existing VPC.
  • The templates do not provide a user parameter that allows you to change the EC2 instance type for the worker nodes of the cluster.

After obtaining a product license in accordance with the terms and conditions in IBM Container Licenses and Eligible Public Cloud BYOSL Policy, you can access the templates, which are provided in an S3 bucket on AWS. In addition to the cost for the license, you are responsible for the cost of AWS services and resources that are needed to deploy and run the product.
