Signing in to AWS

To run the CloudFormation templates that deploy Data Gate on Cloud, you must first sign in to your Amazon Web Services account.

1. Sign in to AWS with an IAM user ID that has the necessary permissions. See IAM permissions.
2. On the navigation bar on top of the Console Home page, select the region that you want to deploy Data Gate on Cloud to. By default, N. Virginia is selected.
3. Some of the required AWS resources are created by the CloudFormation templates during the deployment. Other resources must exist before you run the templates. Make sure that the following resources exist:
   • Elastic IP addresses. See Table 1.
   • Security group. See Table 1.
   • Key pair. See Key pair.
   • S3 bucket for deployment log files. See Table 1.
