Creating and testing a procedure workflow
Follow this workflow to develop, test, and refine a fraud investigation procedure.
About this task
This workflow guides you through the complete procedure development lifecycle from creation to activation.
Procedure

Create the procedure by completing the following actions:
- From the Operations Studio page, click the My Procedures tab.
- Click Add new (blue button with "+" icon).

Complete the three sections of the procedure form:
- Overview: Define the procedure name, purpose, and usage
- Steps: Document the investigation workflow with discrete steps
- Rules: Provide instructions to guide AI agent running
- Use the dictionary to insert MCP tools and variables as needed.
- Click Save to create the procedure with "Draft" status.

Test the procedure by completing the following actions:
- Locate the procedure in the My Procedures list.
- Click the test icon in the Actions column.
- The chat interface opens with the AI agent.
- The agent automatically begins running the procedure.
- Provide inputs when the agent prompts for variables.
- Observe how the agent interprets and runs each step.
- Identify gaps, ambiguities, or missing steps.
- Document areas requiring improvement.

Refine the procedure by completing the following actions:
- Click the procedure row to open it for editing.
- Update the Steps section to address identified gaps.
- Clarify the Rules to improve agent running.
- Add or modify variables and tool references as needed.
- Click Save to update the procedure.

Retest and validate by completing the following actions:
- Test the refined procedure again.
- Verify improvements address previous issues.
- Test with diverse fraud scenarios.
- Confirm procedure completeness and effectiveness.
- Continue refining until the procedure meets all requirements.

Activate the procedure by completing the following actions:
- After validation, locate the procedure in My Procedures.
- Click the activate icon in the Actions column.
- Review the activation confirmation dialog.
- Click Activate to move the procedure to Active Procedures.
The procedure becomes available for operational use.
