Creating and testing a procedure workflow

Follow this workflow to develop, test, and refine a fraud investigation procedure.

About this task

This workflow guides you through the complete procedure development lifecycle from creation to activation.

Procedure

  1. Create the procedure by completing the following actions:
    1. From the Operations Studio page, click the My Procedures tab.
    2. Click Add new (blue button with "+" icon).
    3. Complete the three sections of the procedure form:
      • Overview: Define the procedure name, purpose, and usage
      • Steps: Document the investigation workflow with discrete steps
      • Rules: Provide instructions to guide AI agent running
    4. Use the dictionary to insert MCP tools and variables as needed.
    5. Click Save to create the procedure with "Draft" status.
  2. Test the procedure by completing the following actions:
    1. Locate the procedure in the My Procedures list.
    2. Click the test icon in the Actions column.
    3. The chat interface opens with the AI agent.
    4. The agent automatically begins running the procedure.
    5. Provide inputs when the agent prompts for variables.
    6. Observe how the agent interprets and runs each step.
    7. Identify gaps, ambiguities, or missing steps.
    8. Document areas requiring improvement.
  3. Refine the procedure by completing the following actions:
    1. Click the procedure row to open it for editing.
    2. Update the Steps section to address identified gaps.
    3. Clarify the Rules to improve agent running.
    4. Add or modify variables and tool references as needed.
    5. Click Save to update the procedure.
  4. Retest and validate by completing the following actions:
    1. Test the refined procedure again.
    2. Verify improvements address previous issues.
    3. Test with diverse fraud scenarios.
    4. Confirm procedure completeness and effectiveness.
    5. Continue refining until the procedure meets all requirements.
  5. Activate the procedure by completing the following actions:
    1. After validation, locate the procedure in My Procedures.
    2. Click the activate icon in the Actions column.
    3. Review the activation confirmation dialog.
    4. Click Activate to move the procedure to Active Procedures.
    The procedure becomes available for operational use.
