Editing an MCP data source

Modify the configuration of an existing MCP data source to update connection parameters, authentication credentials, or other settings.

About this task

You can modify any configuration settings for an existing data source, including name, description, tags, transport type, server URL, authentication credentials, and certificate settings.

Procedure

  1. From the Data Sources page, locate the data source card you want to edit.
  2. Click the edit icon on the data source card.
    The configuration form opens with the current settings populated.
  3. Modify any fields as needed.

    You can update the name, description, tags, transport type, server URL, authentication type and credentials, or certificate settings. For detailed information about each field, see MCP data source configuration fields.

  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

    Click Cancel to discard changes and return to the Data Sources page.

    The system saves the updated configuration and attempts to reconnect using the new settings.
  5. Verify the connection status after saving.

    Check the connection status indicator on the data source card to ensure the connection is still successful with the updated configuration.

Results

The data source configuration is updated with your changes.
