An attempt to add a record to the entry-sequenced data set (ESDS) dddd failed. cc is the return code in register 15, and nn is the value of the feedback field in the request parameter list (RPL).

Some VSAM errors might be followed by another message in the range of DWW0210–DWW0212. If any of these messages in this range display, CICS® VR terminates; otherwise, CICS VR continues.

- Batch–Some VSAM errors are not followed by another message because
they are acceptable for:
- The backup-while-open facility, where the updates are in progress while the backup is being made
- VSAM data sets updated on pre-CICS/ESA V4R1 systems, where the after-image is written to the log before being applied to the VSAM data set itself
