Activation and entitlement
To start exploring or fully deploying IBM Transformation Advisor, you must activate the product by using the appropriate credential or license mechanism.
The method that you use to activate the product depends entirely on the product version that you are currently running.
- Version 5.0.0 and later
- The product uses a tier-based key system. Go to the Access Keys page to learn how to automatically activate your 90-day trial, request a Proof of Concept (PoC) key for your specific instance UUID, or apply a Full Access key.
- Versions earlier than 5.0.0
- The product uses a traditional trial mode and permanent license files (.lic). Go to the Trial Experience page to understand evaluation constraints and to learn how to download your permanent license from Passport Advantage Online.

Important: If you are upgrading from an older version to version 5.0.0 or later, your existing .lic file mechanism will be replaced by the new .key file workflow. Review the respective subpages to ensure uninterrupted service.
