Setting up the z/OS system host connection

Use the Copy Services Manager GUI to verify that a host can connect to a z/OS® system.

About this task

To set up a host connection on the z/OS system, follow these steps:

Procedure

  1. In the Copy Services Manager administrator console, enter your user name and password and click Log in.
  2. In the Health Overview page, click Host Systems.
  3. In the Host Systems page, click Add Host Connection.
  4. In the Add Host Connection dialog, enter the host connection information:
    • Host name
    • Port
    • User name
    • Password
      Note: The Copy Services Manager from version 6.2.10 onwards provides a handy feature that allows users to set passphrases when the APAR OA59984 is applied to the z/OS system. With the release of version 6.3.7, Copy Services Manager supports authentication in the form of an Enhanced PassTicket key that supports up to 2048 upper characters.
