Cannot connect to the DS8000 storage system

This condition occurs when Copy Services Manager attempts to connect to a DS8000 storage system through a Hardware Management Console (HMC).

Problem

The HMC user name that is used by Copy Services Manager to connect to the DS8000 storage system must have the correct authorization.

Action

Ensure that you have appropriate user authority before attempt a connection using the HMC.

If you modify the user authorization on the HMC to enable Copy Services Manager to connect to the DS8000, perform one of these steps:
  • Remove the storage connection and then recreate the storage connection to the HMC.
  • Restart Copy Services Manager.
