This condition occurs when you perform data replication actions outside of Copy Services Manager.

Problem

When you do data replication actions outside of Copy Services Manager, you might put storage system volumes in an incorrect or an unexpected state. Doing so might lead to undesirable results.

Action

It might be possible to determine and resolve these issues by investigating the actual state of a volume by using the DS Storage Manager GUI.

You can also use the DSCLI, which is the DS8000 command-line interface program.
