Troubleshooting SNMP alerts

Use this information to troubleshoot problems you experience with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) alerts while using the Copy Services Manager.

Cannot add the MIB file to the SNMP manager
This condition occurs when the prerequisite management information base (MIB) files are not installed in your SNMP manager application.
Copy Services Manager cannot send SNMP alerts
This condition occurs when Copy Services Manager server cannot communicate with the SNMP manager.
Not receiving SNMP alerts
This condition occurs when Copy Services Manager server cannot communicate with the SNMP manager.
Long strings of numbers appear in the SNMP manager
This condition occurs when the MIB files are not installed in your SNMP manager application.
