Copy sets are in the prepared state but the session is suspended

Problem

The Copy Services Manager server temporarily lost connectivity to one of the storage boxes and one of the Metro Mirror sessions is in a suspended state. When the management server regains connectivity, the Copy Services Manager GUI shows that all of the copy sets are in the Prepared state, but the session state remains in the Suspended state.

As soon as connectivity is lost, Copy Services Manager puts Metro Mirror sessions into a Suspended state. It is possible that the connectivity was restored before the DS storage system actually issued the freeze to its logical subsystems (LSSs). Thus, replication is still running, the copy sets are prepared, and the paths exist for this session.

Action

Issue the Start command for the session. Copy Services Manager recognizes the copy sets are prepared and updates the session state accordingly.
