Installing on distributed systems

Install Copy Services Manager by running the installation package that is provided with your license.

About this task

This task describes the procedure for installing the product on a Distributed server.
Note: The product can also be installed via Silent installation. See Using Silent installation on distributed systems.

Procedure

  1. Close all open applications before installation.
  2. Run the installation setup file that is provided with your license.
    • AIX: csm-setup-6.3.x-aix.bin
    • Linux: csm-setup-6.3.x-linux-x86_64.bin
    • Linux on z Systems: csm-setup-6.3.x-linux-s390x.bin
    • PowerPC Linux: csm-setup-6.3.x-linux-ppcle.bin
    • Windows: csm-setup-6.3.x-win.exe
    Note: If you installed an earlier version of Copy Services Manager (CSM), the installation setup file automatically upgrades to the most-recent version.
  3. Select the appropriate language from the bottom menu of the IBM® Copy Services Manager installation page, and click OK.
  4. An Introduction page is displayed. Review the text, and click Next to proceed.
  5. The Select License page displays. It gives you the option to provide your license here instead of after the installation. Click Browse to select a license zip file to apply, and click Next.
    Note: If no license file is available, click Skip to apply an evaluation license. You can apply a full license later.
  6. Review the license text and select I accept the terms in the license agreement to proceed to the next step in the installation. You can also Print the license agreement. When you are finished making selections, click Next to go to the next page.
    Note: If you select I do not accept the terms in the license agreement, a dialog prompts you to confirm this selection. If you do confirm it and click Yes, the installation process ends and Copy Services Manager is not installed.
  7. On the Select Installation Type page, select one of the following options, and click Next:
  8. Provide the information that is requested on the installation setup pages. Click Next when you are ready to proceed.
    1. Choose an installation folder, or accept the default.
      Note: You can also click to Restore Default Folder.
    2. For authentication information, define a user name or accept the default, csmadmin, and define and confirm a password.
    3. For server port configuration, use the default ports, or define different ports that are not in use. See Table 1 for port information.
      Note: You can also click to Restore Defaults.
  9. Confirm the information on the Pre-Installation Summary page. Return to Previous pages to modify the information if needed, and click Install.
  10. After the installation completes, a message is displayed that the installation is successful. Click Done.
  11. If a browser is installed, you are asked whether you want to start the browser to access the Copy Services Manager GUI. Otherwise, access the GUI by opening a browser and pointing to https://host_name:9559/CSM/.
    Note: After you log in to the GUI, you are presented with a warning page, This Connection is Untrusted, regarding an invalid security certificate.
    1. Click Add Exception.
    2. On the Add Security Exception page, click Confirm Security Exception.
    3. Log in to the GUI with the user name and password that you defined during the installation.

What to do next

If you install Copy Services Manager on a distributed system, and are managing HyperSwap, you also need to run the following IWNRACF jobs:
  • IWNRACF3: HyperSwap address spaces
  • IWNRACF4: HyperSwap Sockets Server address space
  • IWNRACF5: Copy Services Manager host connection ID
