The user account is locked after the DS Storage Manager password for the HMC is changed

If the DS Storage Manager password for the Hardware Management Console (HMC) is changed, you must update the password in Copy Services Manager.

Problem

If you do not update this password in Copy Services Manager, the DS Storage Manager user account for the HMC might be locked after these applications attempt to connect to the storage system with the incorrect password.

Action

Update the password in the Copy Services Manager GUI as shown in the following table.

Interface Action
Copy Services Manager Update the password on the storage connection details page for the storage system as shown in the following steps:
  1. In the Copy Services Manager GUI menu bar, go to Storage > Storage Systems.
  2. On the Storage Systems page, click the Connections tab.
  3. On the Connections tab, click the ID for the storage connection that you want to update in the Storage Connection column.
  4. On the Connection Details page, enter the password in the Password field, and then click Apply.
