Tutorial: Creating custom graphs over time
In this tutorial you will learn how to create custom graphs that show incident life cycles over time.
You can create custom graphs to display the lifecycle of incidents over time, adding
fields, custom fields, and filters to focus on the areas of greatest interest to your organization.
For best results, you typically need to create some test graphs and variations to become familiar
with the capabilities.
Learning objectives
After completing the lessons in this tutorial, you will know how to complete the following:- Create custom graphs over time using different graph types
- Apply fields and custom fields to graphs.
- Apply time units, such as hourly, daily, monthly.
- Apply time ranges to graphs.
- Show average times on graphs.
Time required
This tutorial should take approximately 40 minutes to finish. If you explore other concepts related to this tutorial, it could take longer.Conventions used in this tutorial
This tutorial is based on sample data on a non-production Orchestration & Automation and might not reflect real data.- Lesson 1: Creating a basic graph
When creating a custom graph, all incident fields are available for selection, including your custom fields. In this lesson you will create a simple Table graph. - Lesson 2: Adding more fields
You can create more advanced graphs by adding additional fields. You can add a maximum of four fields, or two fields to the top selection area and two to the lower selection area.
