Planning for installation

To plan for your IBM Security QRadar® Suite Software deployment, review and complete all of the necessary tasks.

Installation user roles
QRadar Suite Software installation tasks require specialized skills and knowledge. You might have a cluster administrator and a system administrator in your organization, or you might have one administrator who does it all. Whichever way your organization is structured administrators need a working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes.
System requirements
Ensure that your servers meet the minimum hardware and software requirements for IBM Security QRadar Suite Software.
Hardware requirements
IBM Security QRadar Suite Software is supported and tested for AMD64 architecture.
Supported browsers
For the features in the product to work properly, you must use the supported environments.
Storage requirements
The integration capabilities in IBM Security QRadar Suite Software use persistent storage to provide reliable and resilient storage of state data. The cluster administrator must provide appropriate storage classes that meet the requirements of the respective Red Hat® OpenShift® environment.
Security requirements
IBM Security QRadar Suite Software runs on a Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform restricted security context constraints (SCC). The IBM Security QRadar Suite Software operator is scoped to the namespace.
License options
This document provides information about licensing and entitlements for IBM Security QRadar Suite Software.
Domain name and TLS certificates
You must provide a TLS certificate for the QRadar Suite Software platform Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN).
Users and accounts
As a cluster administrator, you enable users to log in to a IBM Security QRadar Suite Software account by configuring one or more identity providers for an account, and adding users from those identity providers to the account.
Planning for an environment with multiple IBM Cloud Paks or multiple instances of QRadar Suite Software
You can install multiple IBM Cloud® Paks on your cluster, or multiple instances of QRadar Suite Software. Ensure that you consider the requirements for each IBM Cloud Pak® that you plan to install.

When you purchase IBM Security QRadar Suite Software, obtain the software from the IBM® Entitled Registry repository, or the IBM Cloud catalog.
