Changes to fulfilling requests
Where a Slice resides during the reallocation determines how the Slicestor® Node processes a request.
All Slices are available always both in the stable and reallocation states. Having the source Slicestor® Node serve as a proxy keeps operations transparent to Accesser® Nodes.
- If a Slice is reallocated and the system is still in the reallocation state, the sourceSlicestor® Node will proxy any request for that
slice. Note: It could add latency due to the extra round-trip time between the source and destination Slicestor® Nodes. More Slices are proxied as reallocation progresses.
- All other requests are handled normally by the source Slicestor® Node.
