Finalizing a slice

You can finalize a slice.

Procedure

  1. The slicename is hashed to determine zone number, offset and size.
  2. The bin location is retrieved from in-memory pointers.
  3. The bin reference is updated in memory to reflect that old revisions of the slice data have been finalized.
  4. Old revision entries for the slice data are removed from the Catalog.
