Feature overview

This feature integrates an external component, Infinity Storage with Infinity Data Compliance module, acting as a Gateway that provides WORM-style access to the system.

The objective is to create a mode of operation that provides Infinity Storage complete control of the data path from ingestion to storage on vaults. In addition, the Infinity Storage client is the only client that can access the IBM Cloud Object Storage Vault™, and the IBM Cloud Object Storage System™ administrator is not able to manipulate the object or enable any other clients to do so.

Infinity Storage is an open storage architecture, where a volume can be defined as WORM. The Infinity Storage WORM capability (Infinity Data Compliance) is used in the IBM Cloud Object Storage System™/Infinity Storage Solution. The Infinity Storage component acts as a Gateway and allows the user to provide compliance WORM configuration sets and enforces retention periods, access rights, and protects files from modification or deletion, until a designated retention period expires. The IBM Cloud Object Storage System™ Locked Vault that is combined with the Infinity Storage Gateway creates a tightly integrated storage solution that provides the capability to create and manage vaults that are called Locked Vaults and Locked Mirrors.
