Enabling Object Lock on container vaults

About this task

  • You must enable Object Lock at the system level before enabling it on a vault. See Enabling Object Lock for a system.
  • Once enabled at system level, you must enable Object Lock at the storage pool level. See Enabling Object Lock on a storage pool.
  • You must be in container mode to configure Object Lock on a vault.
  • Versioning support is required when using Object Lock.
  • Once Object Lock is enabled on individual container vaults it cannot be disabled.

Procedure

  1. If necessary, create a new container vault.
  2. Do either of the following:
    1. Navigate to Configure > Storage Pools > Object Lock > Configure.
    2. In the Vault Settings section, select the vaults for which you want to enable Object Lock.
    3. Click Enable Selected Vaults.
    or
    1. Navigate to Configure > Vaults
    2. Select a vault on the Vault Summary page.
    3. Click Change to edit a vault.
    4. Click a vault in a storage pool for which Object Lock was enabled.
    5. Click Change.
    6. Select Enable Object Lock in the Options section.
      Note: The Allow Versioning on Containers option must be selected also to enable Object Lock.
    7. Click Update.
