Overview

A Splunk® agent that is deployed by using the External Agent feature can collect logs from the IBM Cloud Object Storage System™.

External Agent is a service that allows the installation of custom software on IBM Cloud Object Storage System™ appliances. Examples include third-party monitoring agents, management agents, and log handling services. This document discusses the deployment of a Splunk® agent by using the External Agent feature, and describes the logs that are collected. External Agents run unrestricted. Care must be taken when third-party software is deployed on IBM Cloud Object Storage System™ to ensure that it does not interfere with standard services.
