Replacing an old device set with a new storage pool set.

• Allows old, outdated hardware to be removed from the Storage Pool and replaced with new, better, faster, larger capacity hardware.
• Multiple older sets can be replaced immediately with a new replacement set. The operation does not require a one-to-one replacement.

Resizing an existing device set.

• Allows the user to add capacity to partially populated Slicestors®. The current software will not properly use any additional capacity that is added after the creation of the storage pool set.

• Eliminates the performance and metadata scalability bottleneck of named-object operations.
• Equalizes storage capacity and usage across all nodes and drives in the system which.
