Backing up the Manager manually

Before you begin

CAUTION:
If you want to run a manual backup to a remote location, you need to set the FTP server configuration using the settings panel, or if you want to run a manual backup to an S3 bucket, you need to set the configuration in advance.
Note: This feature works with any HTTPS endpoint using a certificate either issued by a well-known authority or internal, private, or self-signed certificates. This feature is intended to be used for backing up the Manager to the IBM public cloud or any other equivalent that provides a certificate issued by a well-known CA or internal, private, or self-signed certificates.

Procedure

  1. On the Settings tab, navigate to Operations> > Backup Manager Manually.
  2. Select the location to which you want to back up the Manager database:
    • My Desktop (default)
    • Reflects what was selected for the backup destination.
    Important: The backup file will be encrypted using the Backup Encryption Password entered on the Backup Configuration page. If this password is lost or forgotten, it will NOT be possible to perform a restore using this backup file.
  3. Click Backup to begin the backup.
