Configuring Device Level APIs

Enabling the Device Level API will configure statistic and health APIs on each of the selected device types, providing support for access to the device state outside of the Manager

Procedure

  1. On the Settings tab, navigate to Monitoring > Device Level API.
  2. Click the Enable toggle.
  3. Select the schemes to enable. HTTP runs on port 8192, and HTTPS runs on port 8193.
  4. Select the device types to configure statistic and health API on.
  5. If required, select the checkbox to Enable Basic Authentication
    This grants monitoring privilege to users of the roles Super User, System Admin, and Operator. All other roles are restricted.

    If Basic Authentication is enabled, all device API requests require basic authentication headers to be sent.

  6. Click Save.
    Note: It may take several minutes for the changes to be reflected on each device.
