Components of a vault mirror

The component vaults appear in the IBM Cloud Object Storage Accesser® web interface as normal vaults with some limitations.

  • They cannot be deployed to Accesser® Node independently, but only as part of the vault mirror.
  • Certain vault attributes must be common to both vaults in a vault mirror or protected mirror, so they must be assigned to the vault mirror or protected mirror and not the individual vaults.
  • Vaults cannot be deleted while they are part of the vault mirror or protected mirror.

    The vault mirror or protected mirror can be deleted. The component vaults disconnect from the vault mirror or protected mirror and then can be deployed independently, and do not remain synchronized.

  • New vault mirrors or protected mirrors can include one preexisting Vault, but the second vault must be a newly created and empty Vault.
  • Standard vaults can only be component vaults to vault mirrors and retention vaults can only be component vaults to protected mirrors.
