Configuring a vault migration
Follow these steps to configure a Vault data migration.
Before you begin
Before you configure a Vault data migration, an operator must upgrade all Slicestor® Nodes in the specified Vaults Storage Pools to ClevOS 3.7.1 or later.
Procedure
- Navigate to a Vault to be migrated.
- Click Setup Vault Migration in the Vault action bar.
-
Select the appropriate option for this migration:
- Migrate data from this specified Vault to another Vault.
- Migrate data to this specified Vault from another Vault.
-
Make a choice, depending on the selection made in the previous step:
- If this Vault is intended as the source, select whether to create the destination Vault or choose an existing Vault from the drop-down.
- If this Vault is intended as the destination, choose a source Vault from the drop-down.
-
Check the Rename Destination Vault check box, if applicable to this migration.
Selecting this option renames the destination Vault with the source Vaults name. It also applies the source Vaults Access Pool deployments, allowed IP addresses, and authorized user permissions to the destination. This option is used when the destination Vault is intended to replace the source Vault and a continuous I/O to the source vault exists.
- If you are configuring a migration between two existing Vaults, click Finish Setup to save your changes. If you are configuring a migration to a new Vault, click Proceed to Create Vault.
- If it is a migration between two existing Vaults, skip to the Monitoring a vault migration section. Otherwise continue with the following steps.
-
Create the destination Vault by using the same procedure as standard Vault
creation.
Note: If the Rename Destination Vault option was checked, the Vault Name field is read-only and completed with the source Vault's name.
