Use cases

The On-prem Object Expiration feature can be used on buckets to delete versioned and non-versioned objects automatically. The feature can also be used to automatically abort incomplete multipart uploads.

Users typically use this feature to define a policy to enable automatic cleanup of objects that are no longer needed. Feature helps the users to reduce the usage and in turn lower their bill. Users also can use this feature in workflows where security and retention are a priority.

This feature requires that buckets have V4 index format. (See Vault Index Format Selection Feature Description Document)
