Operations

Two utilities are provided through the Manager for monitoring the progress of expiration.

1. The object expiration feature raises incidents if either the scanning services or the reclamation services take longer than 18 hours. It indicates that the rates for the storage pool can be too low and the operator must raise the rates.
2. A report on the storage pool level, and on the device level, which shows the number of objects that are scanned and the number of objects that are deleted per day, among other statistics. It allows the operator to gauge the progress of expiration each day.
