Configure network switches
Before configuring any nodes, change these settings on any network switches the system uses.
- Jumbo frames
-
Use jumbo frames with any node that has a 10 Gbps Ethernet NIC or if the system is located across multiple physical locations on a wide area network.
Tip: The MTU settings must be consistent across the entire system and all immediate switches. It avoids packet fragmentation, which impacts performance. - NIC Bonding
-
IBM Cloud Object Storage System NICs can be bonded for load balancing (LACP bonding) or redundancy. The switch must be configured when you are using the balanced option.
Note: Because switch commands vary, refer to your manufacturer's documentation for specific commands.
Note: For Infiniband configuration, see Appendix D.
