Managing Simple Object metadata

Client applications can store Binary Large Objects (BLOB or Objects) in an IBM Cloud Object Storage System™ by using various API methods, including Amazon Web Services Simple Storage Service (AWS S3), OpenStack Swift, Web ObjectScaler (WOS), and the IBM Cloud Object Storage System™ Simple Object over HTTP (SOH) API. Each of these methods is defined as the means of storing all of the data in a particular logical storage construct that is called a Vault. Vaults that use SOH are called Simple Object Vaults (SOV) and the Objects written to them are called Simple Objects (SO). SOH is unique in that it does not track the metadata, such as the file name. Clients that develop applications that use SOH need to determine how they store and track this metadata. Three methods are available to store metadata that use an IBM Cloud Object Storage System™.
