Adding a file

In IBM® Controller Web, you can import journals from a text file (.csv) or Microsoft Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) in to Controller.

Before you begin

You must specify an import specification for the file to be imported. For more information, see Defining an import specification.

In the file to be imported, you must enter a record number for each journal entry to see when the journal starts and when it ends. The record number must not have the period, actuality, journal type, journal number, journal description and company repeated on each lines.

Controller will take the information for these fields only in the first line of the record. The journal number is not compulsory and if not indicated, Controller stores the record in the first available journal number.
