Services
This feature enables the user to start and stop FAP services from Controller Web.
Procedure
In Controller Client, to access the Self Service option, follow these steps:

In Controller Client, check the access permission for Self
Service.
- The right access can be defined in Classic under the Maintain > Rights > Security group.
- A new Self Service menu item is added under Controller Web.
- The access right can either be Normal or Not available. If you select
Not available, the user with that specific security group will not be able to access
Self Service. To enable Self Service access, you must enable the security flag from Controller classic. To enable the security flag follow these steps:
- Navigate to Maintain > Rights > User.
- Check the Security System Enabled check-box.
- Select the User for which Self Service access needs to be enabled.
- Move to the Limitations tab.
- Select the relevant menu group for which the Self Service access is enabled. For more information, see Create Security Groups.
- Save the changes and close Controller Classic application.
- Restart IBM Cognos Controller Web
in services.

- For accessing Self Service, log in to Controller Web. Once logged in, click the
Administration
icon. The Controller Web portal dashboard opens. - You can select Services from the left menu panel or the
Services tile available on the Administration home
page. To enable the Services tile in Controller Web, see Steps to enable
Self Service feature in Controller Web.
It will take few seconds to load the Services page. The Services page lists all the available services.
- Click the start icon to start a service, it will take few seconds to start the service
(if it takes time to start a service, the status is moved to unknown and later will move to
running).

- Click the stop icon to stop a service, it will take few seconds to stop the service (if
it takes time to stop a service, the status is moved to unknown and later will move to
running).
