Introduction

This document is intended for use with IBM® Controller Web.
Controller Web is a web application designed for a reporting site user who reports for one or more subsidiaries into the group’s financial consolidation.
Note: Configuration and maintenance is done in the IBM Controller Classic. Some of the configuration that you do in the IBM Controller Classic does not apply in Controller Web.
Note: If you do some changes in the menu Maintain in IBM Controller Classic, you must restart the Web Services (Controller Web and Controller Web UI) to get those changes applied in Controller Web.

Controller is integrated with various IBM Cognos® products to provide a complete solution for analysis and reporting.

Getting started

On the General 1 tab, check the Use Period Locking on Company Level option and select the closing version in the Closing Version text box. This ensures that on submission a company is set to Ready and locked for data entry status.

On the Reconcile 1 tab, the Reconciliation setting, Reconciliation will be Made by must have Closing Version selected. Reconciliation Setting by Journal Type is not supported in Controller Web.
Important: The option Set status for submission to Ready after reconciliation from IBM Controller Classic is not supported in Controller Web. You must actively submit your Company to get Ready status.

Controller Web workflow

In IBM Controller Web, you can report for one or more subsidiaries in to the financial consolidation for a group.

Before you do a financial consolidation, set or verify the language and date formats to use. For more information, see Setting language and date formats.

The following steps show the workflow for consolidation:
  1. On the landing page, click View all on the Open projects section and open a project.
  2. Select a company and a submission
  3. Populate the forms with data
  4. Reconcile intercompany transactions
  5. Manage the journals
  6. Check the account reconciliation
  7. Review your data
  8. Submit your data
